Library’s New Piano Receives Warm Welcome

Halifax Central Library’s Paul O’Regan Hall is now home to a beautiful piano, all thanks to the generosity and persistence of local music lovers.

Library Players Series Celebrates 25 Years

 

The Library Players recently celebrated 25 years of presenting symphony musicians in the Halifax Public Libraries.  Classic Concerts NS owner Peggy Walt is proud to have started this series when she was Public Relations Director for Symphony Nova Scotia, 25 years ago.  After approaching Joan Brown at the Spring Garden Road Branch who enthusiastically responded to the idea, Peggy arranged for SNS players to demonstrate the family of instruments, including a memorable harpsichord demo that resulted in the donation by a harpsichord to SNS by local resident, Susan Kerslake.  …
