Library Players Series Celebrates 25 Years

The Library Players recently celebrated 25 years of presenting symphony musicians in the Halifax Public Libraries. Classic Concerts NS owner Peggy Walt is proud to have started this series when she was Public Relations Director for Symphony Nova Scotia, 25 years ago. After approaching Joan Brown at the Spring Garden Road Branch who enthusiastically responded to the idea, Peggy arranged for SNS players to demonstrate the family of instruments, including a memorable harpsichord demo that resulted in the donation by a harpsichord to SNS by local resident, Susan Kerslake. After a couple of years, Max Kasper took over running the series and funding was secured to ensure the musicians were paid for their performances and demonstrations.
